Over the last couple of days, Andrew Lockington (Journey to the Center of Earth, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Lioness: Special Ops, The Space Between Us) has been recording his score for the upcoming Netflix original film Atlas. The movie is directed by Brad Peyton and stars Jennifer Lopez, Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Lana Parrilla and Abraham Popoola. The sci-fi thriller follows an AI analyst who gets stranded on a distant planet and must learn to fight inside a military-grade mech suit in order to survive. Aron Eli Coleite (Locke & Key) wrote the screenplay based on an earlier version by Leo Sardarian. Peyton is also producing the project with Jeff Fierson (Sweet Girl) for ASAP Entertainment, alongside Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold (Obi-Wan Kenobi, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) & Tory Tunnell (Trumbo, Underground), Nuyorican Productions’ Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas & Benny Medina (Hustlers, Marry Me), as well as Greg Berlanti & Sarah Schechter (Free Guy, The Flash). Lockington has previously scored Peyton’s last four features, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, San Andreas, Incarnate & Rampage and also composed the music for the Peyton-produced TV shows Frontier and Daybreak. Atlas will premiere in 2024 on Netflix.

Lockington is also expected to return to score the third season of Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown.
