La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1953 sci-fi classic The War of the Worlds directed by Byron Haskin and starring Gene Barry and Ann Robinson. The album features the expanded and remastered original score from the Paramount Pictures release composed by Leith Stevens (The Wild One, Destination Moon, Lost in Space, The Time Tunnel, The Night of the Grizzly). Also included is the composer’s score from 1951’s When Worlds Collide directed by Rudolph Maté and starring Richard Derr, Barbara Rush, Peter Hansen & John Hoyt. The 70th Anniversary Edition CD is limited to 1,000 copies and will be available to order on the label’s official website at noon today. The War of the Worlds is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
