Opening in around 800 theaters is the sci-fi comedy drama Jules directed by Marc Turtletaub and starring Ben Kingsley, Jane Curtin, Zoe Winters, Harriet Sansom Harris, Anna George, Cody Kostro and Donald Paul. Volker Bertelmann (All Quiet on the Western FrontLion, Hotel MumbaiAdrift, The Old GuardPatrick Melrose) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. Opening in select theaters is the sci-fi romantic comedy The Pod Generation written and directed by Sophie Barthes and starring Emilia Clarke, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Vinette Robinson, Rosalie Craig and Jean-Marc Barr. The film’s original music composed by Evgueni & Sacha Galperine (The Undoing, Scenes from a Marriage, RadioactiveLoveless, Wizard of Lies, The Family). No word on a soundtrack release. Opening in select U.S. theaters today is the French drama Between Two Worlds (Ouistreham) co-written and directed by Emmanuel Carrère and starring Juliette Binoche, Hélène Lambert, Emily Madeleine, Léa Carne, Evelyne Porée and Patricia Prieur. The film’s original music is composed by Mathieu Lamboley (Lupin, LoloSisters in ArmsThe Last Mercenary, A Minuscule Adventure, Return of the Hero). 440Hz has released a soundtrack EP featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the movie opened overseas. Opening in New York today before expanding to more markets over the next couple of weeks is the documentary The Eternal Memory directed by Maite Alberdi. Miranda y Tobar (José Miguel Miranda & José Miguel Tobar) (Nostalgia for the LightMachuca, The Pearl Button) have composed the film’s original music. Opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the Icelandic thriller Operation Napoleon (Napóleonsskjölin) directed by Óskar Thór Axelsson and starring Vivian Ólafsdóttir, Iain Glen, Jack Fox, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Wotan Wilke Möhring. The film’s original music is composed by Frank Hall (Black’s Game, Stella Blómkvist, Julia, I Remember You). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score has been released earlier this year. Opening in select theaters today before premiering next Friday, August 18 on Netflix is the animated feature The Monkey King directed by Anthony Stacchi and starring Jimmy O. The film’s original score is composed by Toby Chu (Bao, Found,  Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, Henchmen, Covert Affairs, Unforgettable).
