Geoff Zanelli (Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Disturbia, The Intruder, Christopher Robin) is currently recording his score for the upcoming action thriller Blackout. The film is directed by Sam Macaroni (Guest House) and stars Josh Duhamel, Abbie Cornish, Nick Nolte and Omar Chaparro. The movie revolves around a man who wakes up in a Mexican hospital with no memory and – when he discovers who he is – finds himself fighting for his life as several warring cartel factions attack him, each looking for something he has stolen. Van B. Nguyen wrote the screenplay. Michael Mendelsohn (Synchronic, Hangman) is producing the Patriot Pictures production with Jim Steele (Running with the Devil). Blackout is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.

Zanelli’s recent projects include Deon Taylor’s The House Next Door: Meet the Black 2, which just opened in theaters this past weekend. The composer also has Taylor’s Don’t Fear, as well as Mark Koetsier’s animated comedy 10 Lives coming up.
