Premiering on Wednesday, December 23 is the period drama Sylvie’s Love written and directed by Eugene Ashe and starring Tessa Thompson, Nnamdi Asomugha, Eva Longoria, Aja Naomi Kin, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Jemima Kirke. The film’s original music is composed by Fabrice Lecomte. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on Wednesday. The full album details will posted on this page within the next couple of days. The drama premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be available to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime.

Premiering on Friday, December 25 is the animated feature Soul directed by Pete Docter and starring Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Ahmir Questlove Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Daveed Diggs. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social NetworkWatchmen, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone GirlMank) have composed the film’s original score and Jon Batiste has provided original jazz compositions and arrangements. Walt Disney Records has released a digital soundtrack featuring the score, the jazz music and the songs from the movie (click here for the full album details) and has also released two separate vinyl soundtracks featuring the score and Batiste’s jazz music (click here for more details). Soul will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+.

Also premiering on Friday is the Netflix original series Bridgerton created by Chris Van Dusen and starring Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Claudia Jessie, Luke Newton, Sabrina Bartlett, Nicola Coughlan, Adjoa Andoh, Ruth Gemmell, Polly Walker, Harriet Cains, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Barker and Julie Andrews. The show’s original music is composed by Kris Bowers (Green Book,  Mrs. America, Dear White PeopleWhen They See Us). Two different soundtrack albums featuring both Bowers’ score and the songs from the series will be announced within the next couple of days. Premiering in the U.S. on Saturday, December 26 is the French drama DNA (ADN) co-written and directed by Maïwenn and starring herself, Fanny Ardant, Louis Garrel, Marine Vacth, Alain Françon, Dylan Robert, Hen­ri-Noël Tabary, Car­o­line Chan­iol­leau and Omar Mar­wan. Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love, QuillsBilly Elliott, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, Proof) has composed the film’s original music. 22D Music & Why Not Productions have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score when the movie opened in French theaters.
