Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21/22 Jump Street, Hotel Transylvania) has been tapped to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming animated sequel The Croods: A New Age. The film is directed by Joel Crawford (Trolls Holiday) and features the voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman, Clark Duke, Leslie Mann, Peter Dinklage and Kelly Marie Tran. The movie follows the title characters as they need a new place to live and set off into the world in search of a safer place to call home. Mark Swift (Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted) is producing the project. Alan Silvestri has previously scored 2013’s original The Croods film. The Croods: A New Age will be released in theaters nationwide on November 25, 2020 by Universal Pictures.

Mothersbaugh also has Sony Pictures Animation’s feature Connected coming up. The film was originally set to be released this fall and is currently awaiting a new release date.
