Premiering on Thursday, May 23, is the limited series The Name of the Rose directed by Giacomo Battiato and starring John Turturro, Michael Emerson, Rupert Everett, Damian Hardung, Sebastian Koch, Richard Sammel, James Cosmo, Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Greta Scarano. Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (LionAdriftPatrick MelroseGunpowder) has composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Friday, May 24, is the Netflix original movie Rim of the World directed by McG and starring Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr., King Bach (aka Andrew Bachelor), Alessio Scalzotto, Tony Cavalero, Punam Patel, Michael Beach, Jason Rogel, Lynn Collins, Rudy Mancuso and Annabeth Gish. The film’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Happy Death Day). Also premiering on Friday is the Netflix original series What/If created by Mike Kelley and starring Renee Zellweger, Jane Levy, Blake Jenner and Daniella Pineda. Fil Eisler (Empire, RevengeHow to Be SingleCHiPsUnRealLife of the Party) is the composer of the show. Another movie premiering on Friday is the horror thriller The Perfection directed by Richard Shepard and starring Allison Williams, Logan Browning and Steven Weber. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Haslinger (UnderworldHalt and Catching FireResident Evil: The Final Chapter). The thriller, which follows a once-promising music prodigy who reconnects with her former mentors, only to find them taken with a talented new pupil, premiered at last year’s Fantastic Fest and is premiering exclusively on Netflix. Also check out our scoring assignment announcement for more information.

Also premiering on Friday is the Spanish Netflix original series High Seas (Alta Mar) created by Ramón Campos & Gema R. Neira and starring Ivana Baquero, Jon Kortajarena, Alejandra Onieva and José Sacristán. Federico Jusid (Kidnap, The Secret in Their Eyes, Life Itself, Watership Down) has composed the film’s original music.  The drama centers on two sisters who discover disturbing family secrets after a string of mysterious deaths occur on a luxury ship traveling from Spain to Brazil in the 1940s. The show will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
