French singer/songwriter and composer Emilie Simon has recently composed the original music for the upcoming crime comedy Going Places. The film is written and directed by John Turturro who also stars in the movie alongside Miou-Miou, Gérard Depardieu, Patrick Dewaere, Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou and Susan Sarandon. The movie is inspired by Bertrand Blier’s 1974 French film of the same title and stars Turturro as iconic bowler Jesus Quintana, whom he also portrayed in the Coen Brothers’ 1998 feature The Big Lebowski. Sidney Kimmel (Hell or High Water, The Lincoln Lawyer), John Penotti (Uptown Girls), Robert Salerno (21 Grams, A Single Man), Fernando Sulichin (Snowden) and Paul-Dominique Vacharasinthu are producing the project. Simon who is best known for her solo records has previously scored a number of films, including Delicacy and the original French version of March of the Penguins. Going Places is expected to premiere later this year.
