Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are composing the music for the upcoming Netflix original series Ozark. The show is created by Bill Dubuque (The Judge, The Accountant) and stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney and Julia Garner. The drama takes place in the dark and dangerous world of drug-money laundering and revolves around a financial planner, his wife and their family’s sudden relocation from a Chicago suburb to a resort community in the Missouri Ozarks. Dubuque is also executive producing the Media Rights Capital (MRC) production with Bateman and Mark Williams (The Headhunter’s Calling). Bensi and Jurriaans have previously co-scored Netflix’s The OA. Ozark is expected to premiere later this year on Netflix.
The composers’ recent projects also include Charlie McDowell’s The Discovery starring Rooney Mara, Robert Redford & Jason Segel. The movie just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and will premiere on March 31 on Netflix. They also contributed music to the documentary Trophy directed by Christina Clusiau & Shaul Schwarz about the powerhouse industries of big-game hunting, breeding and wildlife conservation in the U.S. and Africa. The film also premiered at Sundance and was picked up by The Orchard and CNN for a release later this year. Bensi & Jurriaans also scored Ubisoft’s video game For Honor, which will be released this month. A soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
