Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy The Mick created by John & Dave Chernin (It’s Always Funny in Philadelphia) and starring Kaitlin Olson, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Thomas Barbusca, Jack Stanton, Carla Jimenez and Susan Park. The show’s original music is composed by Jonathan Sadoff (The Meddler, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Beautiful Creatures). The series revolves around a rash, two-bit hustler from Rhode Island who must assume guardianship of her sister’s three high-maintenance children. Premiering tomorrow, January 2, is the new Freeform original series Beyond created by Adam Nussdorf, executive produced by Tim Kring and starring Burkely Duffield, Romy Rosemont, Michael McGrady, Jonathan Whitesell, Dilan Gwyn and Jeff Pierre. The show’s original music is composed by Toby Chu (Covert Affairs, Burn Notice, Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, State of Affair). Premiering on Friday, January 6, is the new NBC drama Emerald City developed by Matthew Arnold, Josh Friedman, David Schulner & Shaun Cassidy and starring Adria Arjona, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ana Ularu, Mido Hamada, Gerran Howell, Jordan Loughran, Joely Richardson and Vincent D’Onofrio. Trevor Morris (Vikings, The Borgias, Olympus/London Has Fallen) who previously collaborated with the show’s director, Tarsem Singh Dhandwar, on Immortals, is composing the show’s original music. Premiering on Saturday, January 7, is the HBO original documentary Bright Lights: Starring Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher directed by Alexis Bloom & Fisher Stevens and executive produced by Brett Ratner & Sheila Nevins. Will Bates (The Path, Another Earth, Chance, Imperium, I Origins) has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which centers on the relationship between late entertainer Debbie Reynolds and her daughter Carrie Fisher, premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and will air on Saturday on HBO.
