Director James Mangold confirmed on Twitter that Marco Beltrami is currently scoring the upcoming Wolverine sequel Logan. The film starring Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen follows an an aging Wolverine and Professor X must protect a young female clone of Wolverine from an evil organization led by Nathanial Essex. Simon Kinberg (X-Men:Days of Future Past & Apocalypse, The Martian, Cinderella) and Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men series, Deadpool, Constantine) are producing the project. No word yet on whether any music composed by Cliff Martinez who was originally hired to score the movie will be featured in the film. Beltrami previously composed the music for Mangold’s 2013 The Wolverine film and also collaborated with the director on 3:10 to Yuma, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination.
