Will Bates is scoring the upcoming Hulu original series The Path. The show is created by Jessica Goldberg (Alex of Venice) and stars Aaron Paul, Michelle Monaghan, Hugh Dancy, and Rockmond Dunbar. The drama follows a family at the center of a controversial cult movement as they struggle with relationships, faith, and power. Goldberg is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood, The Vow) and Michelle Lee of True Jack Productions. Mike Cahill who previously collaborated with Bates on the features Another Earth and I, Origins has directed the first two episodes. The Path will premiere on March 30, 2016 on Hulu.
Bates’ recent projects also include Syfy’s The Magicians, which currently airs every Monday night and has been renewed for a second season, as well as the Netflix docu-series Cooked. He also scored Alex Gibney’s feature documentary Zero Days about the cyber warfare and the threat from state-sponsored hackers. The film premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and will be released in the U.S. later this year by Magnolia Pictures.
