David Shephard has composed the score for the first season of the new AMC original series Into the Badlands. The show is created by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Smallville, Shanghai Knights) and stars Daniel Wu, Marton Csokas, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Sarah Bolger and Orla Brady. The drama is loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West and tells the story of a ruthless, well-trained warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment. Gough and Millar are also executive producing the project with David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, Shanghai Knights), Stacey Sher & Michael Shamberg (Pulp Fiction, Contagion), and Stephen Fung & Wu. Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda (The Raid: Redemption) has written the show’s title theme. Shephard is best known as the composer of A&E’s/Netflix’s series Longmire, which has recently been renewed for a fifth season. Into the Badlands will premiere next Sunday, November 15 and will air every Sunday night on AMC. Visit the official show website for more information.
