Abel Korzeniowski has signed on to score the upcoming historical action adventure Emperor. The film is directed by Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day, The Edge, Next, Along Came a Spider) and stars Adrien Brody, Sophie Cookson, Paz Vega, Eddie Marsan, Gotz Otto, Bill Skarsgard, Thomas Kretschmann, Oliver Platt and Rutger Hauer. The movie centers on the brilliant strategist Emperor Charles V, trying to hold together a fragmented Empire, in a 16th century world of wealth, debauchery, violent retaliations, sex, manipulation and treason. Michael Thomas (The Devil’s Double, Ladyhawke, Backbeat) and Jeffrey Hatcher (The Duchess) have written the screenplay. Paul Breuls (Killing Season, Third Person), Michael John Fedun and Catherine Vandeleene (The Lovers, The Devil’s Double) are producing the project. Rick McCallum (Star Wars) serves as an executive producer. Emperor is currently in post-production. No release date has been announced yet.
Korzeniowski (A Single Man, Romeo & Juliet, W.E.) who recently received his first Emmy Award nomination for Showtime’s Penny Dreadful is also set to return to score the show’s third season, which will premiere next year.
Bad luck the release of the film is doomed 🙁
