The show is created by Eoghan O’Donnell and stars Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, JD Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop and Diogo Morgado. The series takes place after a mysterious object crashes down to earth and follows a group of seemingly unconnected strangers who die from the energy pulse, but then awaken to learn that they have been deemed responsible for preventing the impending Apocalypse. Trey Callaway (Revolution, CSI: NY) and Basil Iwanyk (The Town, Clash of the Titans, John Wick) are producing the CBS Television Studios, Warner Bros. Entertainment and Thunder Road Pictures production. The Messengers is set to premiere on April 10, 2015 and will air every Friday night on The CW. Haslinger whose previous scoring credits include the features Underworld, Crank, Death Race, The Girl Next Door and The Three Musketeers will also return to score the second season of AMC’s Halt and Catch Fire.
