Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack release for the BBC series Luther. The album features selections from the show’s original score of the first three seasons composed by Paul Englishby (An Education, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day), as well as songs featured in the series by artists including Massive Attack, Nina Simone, Emiliana Torrini, Marilyn Manson, The Heavy, Kasabian and Suede. The soundtrack will be released overseas on September 9, 2013. No word yet on a domestic release. Luther created by Neil Cross and executive produced by Phillippa Giles stars Idris Elba as near-genius detective John Luther. The BBC and BBC America co-production premiered in 2010. The third season of the series aired earlier this summer in the UK and is set to premiere in the US on September 3 on BBC America. For updates on the drama, visit the official show website.
