Mark Mothersbaugh is currently scoring the action comedy 21 Jump Street. The film based on the 80s TV series starring Johnny Depp is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller who previously collaborated with the composer on the 2009 animated hit film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. 21 Jump Street stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Ice Cube, Brie Larson and Ellie Kemper. The film revolves around two undercover police officers who go undercover in a high school in order to bust a drug ring. Jonah Hill co-wrote the project’s screenplay with Michael Bacall (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World). The movie is produced by Neal Moritz (The Fast and the Furious, I Am Legend and Stephen J. Cannell (The A-Team). The comedy is scheduled to open in theaters on March 16, 2012.
