Marcelo Zarvos has recently scored the comedy Friends with Kids. The movie marks the directorial debut of actress/writer Jennifer Westfeldt who also wrote the project’s screenplay. Zarvos previously scored the 2001 indie comedy Kissing Jessica Stein, which was written and produced by Westfeldt who also played the main character in the film. Friends with Kids stars Westfeldt, Adam Scott, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Chris O’Dowd, Megan Fox and Edward Burns. The film centers on a group of friends whose lives arechanged as the couples in the group begin to have children. Westfeldt is producing with Jon Hamm, Joshua Astrachan, Jake Kasdan, Joey McFarland and Riza Aziz. The comedy premiered last weekend at the Toronto Film Festival. A domestic distribution deal is expected to be announced shortly.
Zarvos other upcoming projects include Barry Levinson’s horror film The Bay and the drama Steel Town. The composer also recently finished scoring the second season of the Showtime hit show The Big C.
