Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2015 Chinese/Hong Kong drama Lost and Love (Shi Gu). The album features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Zbigniew Preisner (The Secret Garden, When a Man Loves a Woman, Three Colors). Zbigniew Preisner has signed on to score the upcoming comedy drama The Queen of Spain. The film is written and directed by Fernando Trueba (Belle Epoque, Chica & Rita) and stars Penelope Cruz, Antonio Resines, Clive Revill, Mandy Patinkin and Cary Elwes. The movie is the sequel to the 1998 feature The Girl of Your Dreams (scored by Antoine Duhamel) and centers on movie star Macarena Granada, who flees the glitz and glamour of Hollywood in 1956 to return to her roots in Madrid, where she has signed on to star in an epic Hollywood film.
Zbigniew Preisner Scoring ‘Angelica’
Zbigniew Preisner has composed the music for the upcoming psychological thriller Angelica. The film is written and directed by Mitchell Lichtenstein (Teeth, Happy Tears) and stars Jena Malone, Janet McTeer, Ed Stoppard, Tovah Feldshuh and Eliza Holland Madore. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Arthur Phillips is set in 1880 London and follows a young shop girl whose dream marriage to a medical researcher turns into a nightmare after puritanical doctors order the couple to a regime of abstinence and a ghostly force enters their home. Joyce Pierpoline is producing the project for Pierpoline Films along with Richard Lormand.
Zbigniew Preisner to Score ‘The Green Blade Rises’
Zbigniew Preisner has been hired to score the upcoming drama The Green Blade Rises. The film marks the directorial debut of AJ Edwards who worked with Terrence Malick on his past three films and was the editor on his most recent feature To The Wonder. The Green Blade Rises starring Wes Bentley, Brit Marling, Diane Kruger and Jason Clarke follows Abraham Lincoln’s formative years, including abandonment by his father in the harsh winter wilderness, the tragedy that marked him forever and the two women who guided him to immortality, putting him on the path to becoming one of the most influential Presidents in United States history. Edwards also wrote the original screenplay and Terrence Malick is producing the film with Nicolas Gonda (The Tree Of Life) and Charley Beil (To The Wonder).
