Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the superhero movie Supergirl directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Milly Alcock, Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, Jason Momoa, Emily Beecham and David Krumholtz,. The film’s original music is composed by Claudia Sarne (Shining Girls, The Book of Eli, Dispatches from Elsewhere, Triple 9, Earthquake Bird, The Yogurt Shop Murders, Broken City). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening nationwide is the comedy Jackass: Best and Last directed by Jeff Tremaine and starring Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Wee Man, Preston Lacy, Rachel Wolfson, Jasper, Danger Ehren, Dark Shark, Poopies and Zach Holmes. The movie doesn’t feature an original score. Reprise Records has released Billy Strings’ cover version of Roger Alan Wade’s If You’re Gonna Be Dumb, You Gotta Be Tough (click here to listen to the track) and Rockers To Swallow has previously released Karen O’s & Wade’s cover of Vera Lynn’s We’ll Meet Again from the sequel earlier this month (click here to listen to the song and and for more information about the MTV Entertainment Studios production, which is being released by Paramount Pictures).
