Film Music Reporter has learned that Alexandre Desplat has recently scored Roman Polanski’s upcoming black comedy Carnage. We have previously reported that Alberto Iglesias was attached to score the film according to a press release by Sony Pictures Classics in April, but it appears that the composer (who recently finished scoring the thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy) never wrote any music for the film. Carnage marks the second collaboration between Polanski and Desplat who worked together on the director’s last movie The Ghost Writer. The movie is based on the Tony-winning play God of Carnage by Yasmina Reza and stars Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly.
