La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1974 James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun directed by Guy Hamilton and starring Roger Moore, Christopher Lee and Britt Ekland. The 50th Anniversary Edition album features the remastered and expanded original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Somewhere in Time, Out of Africa, Goldfinger, Octopussy, Body Heat), including previously unreleased music. Also included is the title song written by the composer, featuring lyrics by Don Black and performed by Lulu, a demo version of the song, as well as source music recorded for the film. The 60th Anniversary Edition album features the remastered and re-sequenced (into film order) original score from the movie composed and conducted by by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time, The Man with the Golden Gun, Octopussy, Body Heat). Also included is the title song written by the composer, featuring lyrics by Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley and performed by Shirley Bassey, including an alternate mono mix of the track.

World Premiere Release of John Barry’s ‘Seance on a Wet Afternoon’ & ‘A Doll’s House’ Scores Announced
Quartet Records has announced an album featuring a new recordings of five previously unreleased scores composed by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Out of Africa,Goldfinger, Somewhere in Time, Body Heat, The Man with the Golden Gun). Among the titles is the composer’s score for the 1964 British thriller Seance on a Wet Afternoon written and directed by Bryan Forbes and starring Kim Stanley & Richard Attenborough, as well as his music from the 1973 thriller A Doll’s House directed by Patrick Garland and starring Claire Bloom and Anthony Hopkins. Also included are Barry’s scores from three television movies starring Katharine Hepburn: 1975’s Love Among the Ruins and 1979’s The Corn Is Green (both directed by George Cukor) and 1973’s The Glass Menagerie directed by Anthony Harvey. All five scores have been newly recorded with the Orquesta de Córdoba conducted by composer Fernando Velázquez (The Impossible, A Monster Calls, Mama).

Silva Screen Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the the 1982 neo-noir mystery drama Hammett directed by Wim Wenders, executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Frederic Forrest, Peter Boyle, Marilu Henner and Roy Kinnear. The album features the newly remastered original music from the Zoetrope Studios production composed by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Goldfinger, Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time, The Man with the Golden Gun, Body Heat), including previously unreleased additional cues and alternate versions. The Pink Panther Final Chapters Collection features remastered versions of the scores for Trail & Curse composed by Academy Award winner Henry Mancini (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Charade, Santa Claus: The Movie, The Thorn Birds, The Great Mouse Detective,Victor/Victoria) on the first two discs and the composer’s complete expanded score for Son of the Pink Panther (including previously unreleased music) on the third disc.
