The film is directed by Toni Kurkimäki (Lapua 1976) and stars Jarkko Lahti in the title role. The movie tells the true story of legendary Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä who fetched his name in history during the Finnish Winter War of 1939-1940 between Finland and the Soviet Union and is believed to have killed over 500 enemy soldiers in 98 days.
