Composers Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow(LuceArchive 81, HannaFree Fire) are reteaming with writer/director Alex Garland on the upcoming action drama Civil War. The film is written and directed by Garland and stars Kirsten Dunst, Cailee Spaeny, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson and Nick Offerman. The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) has announced the film category nominations for the 29th Critics Choice Awards this morning. The film music-related categories are listed below. For a full list of nominations, click here. The awards will be given out on January 14, 2024 at the 29th Annual Critics Choice Awards ceremony at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles and will broadcast in the U.S. live on The CW.

Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French adventure drama The Three Musketeers – Part II: Milady (Les trois mousquetaires: Milady). The album features the film’s original music composed by Guillaume Roussel (Black Beauty, The Spy, Expend4bles, Happy!, 3 Days to Kill, NovemberThe Man with the Iron Heart). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list. A CD version will be released overseas this Friday, December 15. Wenallt Records will release a soundtrack album for the Danish psychological thriller Nightwatch: Demons Are Forever (Nattevagten – Dæmoner går i arv). The album features the film’s original score composed by Ceiri Torjussen (The Canal, The Bombardment, Jack Goes Home, American Night, All Creatures Here Below, Delhi Crime). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 13 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A CD version will be coming out next year and is available for pre-order here. Nightwatch: Demons Are Forever is written and directed by Ole Bornedal and stars Fanny Bornedal, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Kim Bodnia. The sequel to Bornedal’s original 1994 hit movie follows a young student who has taken the job as the night watch in a forensic department and tries to investigate her parents’ dark past. The show is inspired by Pixar’s animated feature A Bug’s Life (scored by Randy Newman) and takes a look into nine different micro bug worlds around the globe, where the forces of nature play out on a miniature scale and where tiny creatures rely on amazing powers and extraordinary alliances to make it through each day. The 5-parter narrated by Awkwafina tells stories of the tiny heroes — from a jumping spider looking for a home on the streets of New York to a Costa Rican orchid bee’s first day on the job making perfume. The film is directed by Mike Mitchell (Trolls, Sky High), co-directed by Stephanie Ma Stine (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) and stars Jack Black who returns in the title role, as well as Viola Davis, Dustin Hoffman, Awkwafina, James Hong, Bryan Cranston, Ian McShane and Ke Huy Quan.
