Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the sci-fi adventure sequel Star Trek Beyond directed by Justin Lin and starring Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Jurassic World, The Incredibles, Inside Out, Lost) who previously scored J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Click here for the full album details. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Lights Out directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman, Alexander DiPersia, with Billy Burke and Maria Bello. Benjamin Wallfisch (The Escapist, Summer in February, Desert Dancer) has composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score.
