David Schwartz has won his first Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) category for his score for the Amazon documentary Lucy and Desi at today’s first night of the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. He has previously been Emmy-nominated three times for his Arrested Development score and his main title theme music from Deadwood: The Movie and Wolf Lake. The composer’s music from Lucy and Desi has been released this past July by Amazon Content Services. The other nominees in the category were Nainita Desai for 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible, Mychael Danna & Harry Gregson-Williams for Return to Space, Jessica Jones for The Tinder Swindler and Terence Blanchard for They Call Me Magic.
In the Outstanding Music Direction category, Adam Blackstone was the winner for The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show Starring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent.
