Chris Stracey and Este Haim (of the Grammy Award-nominated band HAIM) have teamed up to compose the original music for the new Netflix limited series Maid. The show is created by Molly Smith Metzler and stars Margaret Qualley, Andie MacDowell, Nick Robinson, Anika Noni Rose, Tracy Vilar, Billy Burke and Rylea Nevaeh Whittet. The drama is inspired by the New York Times best-selling memoir, Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive, by Stephanie Land and revolves around a young mother who – after fleeing an abusive relationship – finds a job cleaning houses as she fights to provide for her child and build them a better future. Metzler and Land are also executive producing the Warner Bros Television production with John Wells (ER, The West Wing), LuckyChap Entertainment’s Margot Robbie & Tom Ackerley (I, Tonya, Promising Young Woman), Erin Jontow (Shameless) and Brett Hedblom (Dollface). Maid will premiere this Friday, October 1, exclusively on Netflix.
