Hollywood Records will release a score album for the biographical drama The Eyes of Tammy Faye. The album features the film’s original score composed by Theodore Shapiro (The Devil Wears Prada, Ghostbusters, Tropic Thunder, Bombshell, Spy, Marley & Me, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 17. Visit Amazon or any other major digital music platforms to stream/download the album. A separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie will also be coming out tomorrow. The Eyes of Tammy Faye is directed by Michael Showalter and stars Jessica Chastain, Andrew Garfield, Cherry Jones, Louis Cancelmi, Fredric Lehne, Sam Jaeger, Mark Wystrach, Gabriel Olds and Vincent D’Onofrio. The movie tells the story of the extraordinary rise, fall and redemption of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker who – in the 1970s and 80 rose from humble beginnings to create the world’s largest religious broadcasting network and theme park with her husband, Jim Bakker. The drama just premiered at the 2021 Toronto Film Festival and will be released in theaters this weekend by Searchlight Pictures.

I have to know what song is being sampled in at 2 minutes into “Eyes in the Mirror”. It also appears in “Flirting” and probably others, but I’m not sure. I recognize it as something I used to hear in church and I cannot figure out what the song is.
I believe it’s “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”.. at least thats what I heard buried in there. 😉
