Nathan Barr (True Blood, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, The Americans, Hostel, Cabin Fever) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original series Hollywood. The show is created by Ryan Murphy (American Crime Story, American Horror Story) & Ian Brennan (Glee, The Politician) and stars Darren Criss, Jeremy Pope, David Corenswet, Samara Weaving, Maude Apatow, Laura Harrier, Jim Parsons, Joe Mantello, Dylan McDermott, Patti LuPone, Jake Picking and Holland Taylor. No plot details have been announced yet, but the drama has been describe as “a love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown” set in the 1940s. Murphy, Brennan and Criss are also executive producing the project. Hollywood will premiere in May 2020 on Netflix.
Barr’s other current TV scoring projects include Amazon’s Carnival Row, which will return for a second season next year. The composer also has the features The Turning and The Hunt coming up.
