The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the comedy drama Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Al Pacino. The film doesn’t feature an original score. Mary Ramos serves as the project’s music supervisor. Columbia Records has released a soundtrack album featuring tracks by Deep Purple, Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Revere & The Raiders Buffy Sainte-Marie & others today. Opening in limited release is the drama Skin written and directed by Guy Nattiv and starring Jamie Bell, Vera Farmiga, Danielle Macdonald, Mike Colter and Bill Camp. Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, Maniac, The Good Doctor, Easy) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Also opening in limited release is the documentary Mike Wallace Is Here directed and produced by Avi Belkin. The film’s original music is composed by John Piscitello (Becoming Bond, No Place on Earth). No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie centers on the legendary reporter who interrogated the 20th century’s biggest figures in his over fifty years on air. Also opening in select theaters is the drama The Mountain written and directed by Rick Alverson and starring Tye Sheridan, Denis Lavant, Udo Kier, Hannah Gross and Jeff Goldblum. Daniel Lopatin (Good Time) and Robert Donne (Entertainment) have composed the film’s original music. The drama, which follows an introverted young photographer as he joins a renowned lobotomis on a tour to promote the doctor’s recently-debunked procedure, premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and is being released in U.S. theaters by Kino Lorber and Vice Studios.
Also opening in select cities is the documentary For Sama directed by Waad al-Kateab & Edward Watts. The film’s original music is composed by Nainita Desai (Enemy Within, The Confessions of Thomas Quick, Darkness Visible).
