John Debney has composed the music for the Lifetime original movie Flint. The film is directed by Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy, Double Jeopardy) and stars Betsy Brandt, Jill Scott, Marin Ireland and Queen Latifah. The drama is inspired by the Time Magazine cover story The Toxic Tap by Josh Sanburn and tells the true story of a woman who deals with the toxic water scandal in Flint, Michigan, and the effect it has on her family. Barbara Stepansky (Hurt) wrote the script. Craig Zadan & Neil Meron (Hairspray, Empire, Smash) are executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Latifah and journalists Katie Couric and Shakim Compere. Debney has previously collaborated with Beresford, Zadan and Meron on the mini-series Bonnie & Clyde. Flint is premiering tonight on Lifetime. Click here for more information.
Debney has also recently recorded his score for The Greatest Showman (coming out on December 20, 2017) and has also scored the upcoming thriller Beirut, which will be released on April 13, 2018 by Bleecker Street. He also continues to score multiple episodes of Fox’s The Orville.
Well, I think we all know this one isn’t getting a sound track release.
