Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, May 15, is the British mini-series Decline and Fall written by James Woods, directed by Guillem Morales and starring Jack Whitehall, David Suchet and Eva Longoria. The 3-parter’s original music is composed by Paul Englishby (An Education, Miss Petigrew Lives for a Day, The Musketeers). The comedy is based on Evelyn Waugh’s classic novel and follows an inoffensive divinity student at Oxford University in the 1920s,who is wrongly dismissed for indecent exposure having been made the victim of a prank by The Bollinger Club. Premiering on Friday, May 19, is the third season of the Syfy original series 12 Monkeys developed by Terry Matalas & Travis Fickett based on Terry Gilliam’s movie and starring Aaron Standford, Amanda Schull, Kirk Acevedo, Todd Stashwick, Emily Hampshire, Barbara Sukowa and Noah Bean. Stephen Barton (Jennifer’s Body, Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, Titanfall) and Bryce Jacobs (Drive Hard) have scored the new season, taking over from Trevor Rabin & Paul Linford who composed the music for the first two seasons. Also premiering on Friday is the Netflix docu-series The Keepers directed by Ryan White about the decades-old murder of Sister Catherine Cesnik and its suspected link to a priest accused of abuse. The show’s original music is composed by Blake Neely (The Flash, Arrow, Riverdale, The Pacific, Everwood, Supergirl) who previously scored White’s documentary The Case Against 8. All seven episodes of The Keepers will be available to stream on Friday on Netflix.
Premiering on Saturday, May 20, is the HBO original movie The Wizard of Lies directed by Barry Levinson and starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hank Azaria, Alessandro Nivola, Lily Rabe and Kristen Connolly. Evgueni Galperine and Sacha Galperine (The Family, The Past, Loveless, Nine Lives) have composed the film’s original music. Also premiering on Saturday is the Hulu documentary Becoming Bond directed by Josh Greenbaum. The film’s original music is composed by John Piscitello (No Place on Earth). The movie tells the true story of George Lazenby, a poor Australian car mechanic who, through an unbelievable set of circumstances, landed the role of James Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, despite having never acted a day in his life. The documentary premiered in March at the SXSW Film Festival and will be available to stream on Hulu.
