The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the thriller Inferno directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Ben Foster and Sidse Babett Knudsen. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King, Inception, Rain Man, Black Hawk Down). Opening in limited release is the documentary Gimme Danger directed by Jim Jarmusch about the rock-n-roll band The Stooges. The movie doesn’t feature any original score and no soundtrack album has been released. The film recounts the hard-rocking history of Iggy Pop and The Stooges, who burst out of Michigan in the late ’60s with a savage and endlessly influential fusion of rock, blues, R&B, and free jazz. Opening in Los Angeles is the indie drama King Cobra directed by Justin Kelly and starring James Franco, Christian Slater, Garrett Clayton, Keegan Allen, Alicia Silverstone and Molly Ringwald. Tim Kvasnosky (I Am Michael) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. King Cobra centers on a porn star who creates a slew of wildly successful videos, triggering the turf war with rival producers. Opening exclusively at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood is the period thriller The Wolves at the Door directed by John Leonetti (Annabelle) and starring Katie Cassidy, Miles Fisher, Elizabeth Henstridge and Adam Campbell.
