Chris Bacon has been hired to score the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. The project is a reimagining of the iconic D.C. comic created by William Moulton Marston and tells the story of Diana Prince, who tries to balance her life as a vigilante crime fighter, a successful corporate executive and a modern woman. Adrienne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) has been chosen for the title role. Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Saw), Elizabeth Hurley (Austin Powers), Tracie Thomas (Cold Case) and Pedro Pascal (The Good Wife) are co-starring in the pilot. The project is produced and written by David E. Kelley and the pilot is directed by Jeffrey Reiner (Friday Night Lights, The Event). Kelley has a history of hiring top film composers on his shows, including Thomas Newman who wrote the opening theme for Boston Public and Mark Isham who wrote two different main titles for Chicago Hope, as well as Marco Beltrami and Christophe Beck who both scored different seasons of his Emmy-winning hit show The Practice. Chris Bacon recently received critical praise for his score for this year’s feature Source Code directed by Duncan Jones and starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The original Wonder Woman TV show, which ran from 1975 to 1979 featured a theme by film Academy Award-nominated composer Charles Fox and lyricist Norman Gimbel. NBC will decide if the new version gets picked up to series in a couple of weeks.

I sure hope NBC picks it up as a series. A Wonder Woman television/movie is long over due.
I completely agree. I think a lot of people are underestimating what Kelley could do with the premise. I keep hearing that the pilot script is supposed to be great.
Well, now “we” know who will be doing the score for the pilot. Here is hoping the series itself gets the “green-light” and proves all the nay-sayers wrong. May it be a fun and engaging show.
Well of course they’ll pick it up has a series….THEY’VE GOT TO…all the remakes at lest get a fun full season to live these days before being cancelled!…..lets just hope for once this is a sci-fi remake/ new idea that doesn’t get canceled!! >:(
