Intrada Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 1994 thriller The River Wild directed by Curtis Hanson and starring Meryl Streep, David Strathairn, Joseph Mazzello, Kevin Bacon and John C. Reilly. The 2-CD set features the complete score from the Universal Pictures production written and conducted by Academy Award-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Patton, The Planet of the Apes, Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, L.A. Confidential), including 30 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as the end credits song The Water Is Wide performed by Cowboy Junkies on the first disc. The second disc features the first-ever release of the unused score composed and conducted by Oscar winner Maurice Jarre (Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, Dead Poets Society). The label has also released the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1994 IMAX feature The Journey Inside directed by Barnaby Jackson.
