Paul Haslinger has revealed in a recent interview with 8Dio.com that he is scoring the upcoming AMC original series Halt and Catch Fire. The drama is created by Chris Cantwell & Chris Rogers and stars Lee Pace, Scoot McNairy, Mackenzie Davis, Kerry Bishé, Toby Huss and David Wilson Barnes. The show is set in the in the early 1980s during the rise of the PC era and follows an unlikely trio — a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy — who take personal and professional risks in the race to build a computer that will change the world as they know it. Jonathan Lisco (Southland), Gran Via Productions’s Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad, Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia) and Melissa Bernstein (Breaking Bad, Rectify) are executive producing the project. As previously reported, Haslinger whose previous scoring credits include Underworld, Death Race, Crank and Blue Crush also has the thriller No Good Deed directed by Sam Miller and starring Idris Elba & Taraji P. Henson coming up. The composer has also scored John Stockwell’s thriller In the Blood starring Gina Carano, Amaury Nolasco, Stephen Lang, Luis Guzman, Cam Gigandet and Danny Trejo.
