Varese Sarabande has announced the release of a new symphonic work by Academy Award-nominated composer Patrick Doyle. The album entitled Patrick Doyle: Impressions of America features a symphonic piece scored for full orchestra and consisting of fifteen impressions. The symphony was inspired by the Scottish composer’s many trips to the US. The album will be released on April 16, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The release coincides with the composer’s 60th birthday next month. Doyle’s best known film scores include Sense and Sensibility, Brave, Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Thor, Hamletand Henry V. The composer is currently working on the score for the action thriller Jack Ryan starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightley & Kevin Costner and directed by his long-time collaborator Kenneth Branagh.
