Composer Tuomas Kantelinen (Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan, The Adventurers, Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, Mother of Mine, Iron Sky: The Coming Race) is reuniting with director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2) on the upcoming action thriller The Beast. The film is and stars Samuel L. Jackson as the U.S. president who is forced to drive the presidential limousine when a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the country and unlock the full extent of The Beast’s highly classified offensive capabilities to save his injured Secret Service agent, reunite with his wife, and save the world. Joel Kinnaman and Guy Burnet are also starring in the movie. Umair Aleem (Kate, Extraction) wrote the screenplay. Keith Kjarval (Dragged Across Concrete, What They Had), Wayne Marc Godfrey (The Foreigner, The Strangers: Prey at Night), Nicki Cortese (Spontaneous, You Get Me), Rob Van Norden (The Protege, Jolt), John Logan Pierson (The Brink of War, American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing) and Marcos Flores are producing the project. Kantelinen has previously collaborated with Harlin on the features Mindhunters and The Legend of Hercules. The Beast will be released in U.S. theaters on October 9, 2026 by Aura Entertainment.
