Alex Belcher (21 Bridges, Citadel, The Contractor, Made in Italy, All Fun and Games) has composed the original music for the upcoming action adventure Matchbox The Movie. The film is directed by Sam Hargrave and stars John Cena, Jessica Biel, Teyonah Parris, Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, Bill Camp, Corey Stoll, Danai Gurira and Golshifteh Farahani. The movie inspired by the iconic Mattel toys revolves around a group of friends since childhood who have their lives upended when their long-absent former leader, an undercover CIA agent, returns to their small town and unwittingly gets them embroiled in a frantic international pursuit to save the world. David Coggeshall (The Family Plan, Orphan: First Kill) wrote the screenplay. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg & Don Granger (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Reacher) are producing the project for Skydance Media, alongside Robbie Brenner (Barbie, Masters of the Universe) &  Ynon Kreiz for Mattel Films, as well as Jules Daly (Better Man, Play Dirty). Belcher has previously co-scored Hargrave’s first two features, Extraction and Extraction II, with Henry Jackman. Matchbox The Movie will premiere on October 9, 2026 on Apple TV.
