Composer Daniel Pemberton (Project Hail Mary, Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, Enola Holmes, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Masters of the Universe, The Bad Guys, Materialists, Birds of Prey) is reuniting with director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later…) on the upcoming biographical drama Ink. The film is based on the play of the same title by James Graham (Dear England, Sherwood) and stars Jack O’Connell as The Sun editor Larry Lamb, Guy Pearce as Rupert Murdoch and Claire Foy as Jules Davies. The movie tells the story of a group of visionaries and misfits who had an idea for a new kind of news – one that would give people what they want and would change the face of the world we live in today. Graham also wrote the screenplay. Boyle is also producing the project with Tessa Ross (Conclave, The Iron Claw), Michael Ellenberg (The Morning Show, Pachinko) and Tracey Seaward (The Two Popes, Philomena). Pemberton has previously collaborated with Boyle on the features Steve Jobs and Yesterday. Ink will premiere this September at the 2026 Venice Film Festival and will be released in the UK and other European markets by Studiocanal.
Also coming up for Pemberton is Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is set to be released in theaters on June 18, 2027. He also continues to co-score Apple TV’s Slow Horses, which will return for its sixth season on September 16, 2026.
