Decca Music will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama A Late Quartet. The album features the film’s music composed by Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet) and Beethoven’s Opus 131 performed by the Brentano String Quartet, which plays a key part in the film. Also included is an aria from Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s opera Die tote Stadt. The soundtrack will be released on November 6, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are available below. A Late Quartet is directed by Yaron Zilberman and stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Catherine Keener, Mark Ivanir and Christopher Walken. The movie about a world-renowned string quartet struggling to stay together as they mark their 25th anniversary premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last month and is scheduled to be released in the US on November 2 by eOne Films.
