Blake Neely (Masters of the AirThe Pacific, The Flight Attendant, The Flash, You, Greyhound, Everwood, ArrowRiverdaleLife As We Know It) has composed the original music for the new National Geographic original documentary Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story. The film is directed by Laurent Bouzereau (Music by John Williams, Faye) and chronicles the making of Steven Spielberg’s 1975 classic Jaws, from Peter Benchley’s bestselling novel to the cinematic phenomenon it became, with the director himself diving back into the story that launched his career and earned him final cut on the film, a creative control he has maintained for the last 50 years. The movie features never-before-seen footage from Spielberg’s and producer Wendy Benchley’s personal archives, including home videos and rare outtakes, as well as interviews with cast and crew (including John Williams). Bouzereau is also producing the project with Markus Keith for Nedland Films, alongside Amblin Documentaries’ Darryl Frank & Justin Falvey (The Americans, The Haunting of Hill House). Neely has previously scored Amblin’s feature documentary Good Night Oppy. Jaws @ 50: The Definitive Inside Story will premiere on July 10 on National Geographic and will be available to stream on Disney+ on Hulu the following day.

Neely’s other recent feature projects include Ryan White’s Come See Me in the Good Light, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked up by Apple TV+ for a release later this year. He also continues to score The CW’s All American, which has recently been renewed for an eighth and final season.
