Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream, A Quiet Place, Logan, The Hurt Locker, Ford v. Ferrari, The Wolverine) has teamed up with his son Tristan Beltrami to compose the music for the upcoming western The Unholy Trinity. The film is directed by Richard Gray (Robert the Bruce, Sugar Mountain) and stars Pierce Brosnan, Samuel L. Jackson, Brandon Lessard, Veronica Ferres and Q’orianka Kilcher. The movie is set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana and follows a father who gives his estranged son an impossible task: murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Lee Zachariah wrote the screenplay. Gray is also producing the Amadeus Studios production with Kellie Brooks, Colin Floom, Michele Gray, Jeanne Allgood Gaisford, Carter Boehm and Cameron Lessard. Tristan Beltrami has previously collaborated with his father on the docuseries Edge of the Unknown with Jimmy Chin (for which he co-wrote the show’s theme), the feature Silent Night (for which he arranged and performed a new version of the Christmas song), among other projects. The Unholy Trinity will premiere in October at the 2024 Zurich Film Festival.
Beltrami has also recently scored John Woo’s The Killer, which just premiered last month on Peacock. The composer also has the second season of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers (co-scored with Miles Hankins) coming up.
