William Marriott has provided the original score for the new MGM+ original series Beacon 23. Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Eternals, House of the Dragon, Clash of the Titans) has contributed the theme and also served as the music producer on the show created by Zak Penn (Ready Player One, Free Guy) based on the best-selling book by Hugh Howey and starring Lean Headey and Stephan James. The sci-fi thriller follows a government agent and a stoic ex-military man, whose fates become entangled after they find themselves trapped together inside one of many Beacons that serve as a lighthouse for intergalactic travelers. Penn is also executive producing the Boat Rocker production with Headey, James, Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead, The Shield), David Fortier & Ivan Schneeberg (Orphan Black, Killjoys), James Middleton (Altered Carbon, Jupiter’s Legacy), Nick Nantell (8-Bit Christmas), Tina Thor (The Hungry Ghosts), Katie O’Connell Marsh (Narcos, Hannibal), Elisa Ellis (Invasion), Liz Varner, Ira Steven Behr (Outlander, The 4400), Daniel Percival (The Man in the High Castle, The Hot Zone) and Joy Blake. Marriott has previously worked as part of Djawadi’s team over the last decade and provided additional music on most of Djawadi’s recent projects. Beacon 23 will premiere this Sunday, November 12 on MGM+.
Djawadi’s other upcoming projects include Pixar’s first long-form original series Win or Lose and the second season of HBO’s House of the Dragon, which is set to premiere in 2024.
