Matt Morton (Apollo 11, Dinosaur 13, Why Did You Kill Me?) is the composer of the new Netflix limited series Painkiller. The show is created by Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster (A Beautiful Day i the Neighborhood, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) and stars Matthew Broderick, Uzo Aduba, Taylor Kitsch, West Duchovny, Dina Shihabi, Clark Gregg, John Rothman, Jack Mulhern and Sam Anderson. The 6-part drama is based on the book Pain Killer by Barry Meier and the New Yorker Magazine article The Family That Built an Empire of Pain by Patrick Radden Keefe and explores some of the origins and aftermath of the opioid crisis in America. Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor) has directed all episodes and is also executive producing the project with Fitzerman-Blue, Noah Harpster, Radden Keefe, Eric Newman (Children of Men, Narcos) and Alex Gibney (We Steal Secrets, The Armstrong Lie). Painkiller will premiere next Thursday, August 10 on Netflix.
