Adult Swim announced today that jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington (West Coast Get Down), producer, DJ & musician Floating Points (Floating Points Ensemble) and producer, DJ & musician Bonobo will compose the score for the upcoming Toonami original anime series Lazarus. The show developed by Shinichirō Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) is set in 2052 during an era of unprecedented peace and prosperity after a neuroscientist has developed a miracle cure-all drug with no apparent and drawbacks. The project is produced by Sola Entertainment, animated by Studio MAPPA and will feature action sequences designed by Chad Stahelski (John Wick). No release date has been announced yet for Lazarus.
