Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, A Monster Calls, The Orphanage, Crimson Peak, Hercules, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Devil) has composed the original music for the upcoming shark thriller Deep Water. The film is directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger) and stars Aaron Eckhart, Angus Sampson, Ben Kingsley, Lucy Barrett and Molly Belle Wright. The movie follows a group of international passengers en route from Los Angeles to Shanghai who are forced to make an emergency landing and soon discover they’re not alone and they must survive the shark infested waters. Pete Bridges, Shayne Armstrong & S.P. Krause (Acolytes) and Damien Power (No Exit, Killing Ground) wrote the screenplay. Gene Simmons, Volodymry Aremenko (Icefall), Grant Bradley & Dale G. Bradley (The Lovers, Bad Karma), Neal Kingston (Black Water: Abyss, The Reef: Stalked), Robert Van Norden (The Protege, Jolt), Gary & Ryan Hamilton (Poker Face, The Beast Within), Ying Ye (Outcast, Triple Threat), Adrián Guerra (Buried, The Penguin Lessons) and Bob Yari (Crash, Yellowstone) are producing the project. Deep Water will be released in U.S. theaters nationwide on May 1, 2026 by Magenta Light Studios.
