Nitin Sawhney (The Namesake, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, What’s Love Got to Do With It?, Breathe, Traitors, The Colour Room, Lila SaysSettlers) has composed the original score for the upcoming Disneynature documentary Orangutan. The film directed by Mark Linfield (Monkey Kingdom, Penguins), co-directed by Vanessa Berlowitz (Elephant, Queens) is set high in the treetops of Southeast Asia, where a magnificent and mysterious community filled with playful personalities live. The movie narrated by Josh Gad follows Indah, an inquisitive adolescent orangutan learning how to navigate life as she prepares to leave her family and venture out on her own for the first time. Linfield & Berlowitz are also producing the project with Roy Conli (Big Hero 6Tangled).  Sawhney has previously Linfield’s 2024 Disneynature documentary Tiger. Orangutan will premiere on Earth Day, April 22, 2026 on Disney+.

Sawhney’s other recent projects include MGM+’s Vanished, which just premiered last month.
