Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the horror sequel Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 directed by Emma Tammi and starring Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio, Elizabeth Lail, Mckenna Grace, Wayne Knight, Freddy Carter, Theodus Crane, Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard. The film’s original music is composed by The Newton Brothers (Doctor Sleep, Daredevil: Born Again, X-Men ’97The Haunting of Hill House, The Life of Chuck, The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass, The Forever Purge). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Also opening wide is the British spoof comedy Fackham Hall directed by Jim O’Hanlon and stars Thomasin McKenzie, Ben Radcliffe,  Tom Felton, Damian Lewis,Emma Laird, Katherine Waterston and Adam Woodward. Oli Julian (Sex EducationThe TwitsThe Full Monty, Renegade NellBreedersCatastrophe, How to Build a Girl) is credited as the film’s “composer” and David Arnold (Casino Royale, Independence DayStargateTomorrow Never DiesThe World Is Not Enough, Shaft) is receiving “music by” credit. Opening semi-wide in around 800 theaters is the romance 100 Nights of Hero written and directed by Julia Jackman and starring Emma Corrin, Nicholas Galitzine, Charli XCX, Maika Monroe, Richard E. Grant, Amir El-Masry and Felicity Jones. The film’s original music is composed by Oliver Coates (AftersunMary & George, Occupied CityThe History of Sound, Pillion, FoeThe StrangerSignificant Other). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening in Los Angeles this weekend following a release in New York last week and before expanding to more markets in the coming weeks is the political thriller The Secret Agent (O Agente Secreto) written and directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho and starring Wagner Moura, Carlos Francisco, Tânia Maria, Alice Carvalho, Robério Diógenes, Gabriel Leone, Isabél Zuaa and Udo Kier. Tomaz Alves Souza & Mateus Alves (Bacurau) have composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album is expected to be announced soon. The movie, which is set in the late 1970s and follows a technology expert on the run, hoping to reunite with his son, premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and has been selected as Brazil’s entry in the International Feature category for next year’s Academy Awards,

Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the western thriller Frontier Crucible directed by Travis Mills and starring Myles Clohessy, Armie Hammer, William H. Macy, Eli Brown, Mary Stickley, Ryan Masson, Eddie Spears, Zane Holtz and Thomas Jane. The film’s original music is composed by singer/songwriter Sean Rowe who has made his (solo) feature scoring debut on the project. A soundtrack album will be announced soon.
