Silva Screen Records has released the first-ever soundtrack album for the 2006 Italian drama Dark Sea (Mare Nero) directed by Roberta Torre and starring Luigi Lo Cascio, Anna Mouglalis, Maurizio Donadoni and Massimo Popolizio. The album features the film’s original music composed by Shigeru Umebayashi (House of Flying Daggers, In the Mood for LoveThe Grandmaster, 2046,Curse of the Golden Flowers). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the composer’s main theme after the jump. The label is also releasing a CD version, which also includes Umeyashi’s score from Torre’s In the Mirror (check out the cover art below). Dark Sea premiered at the 2006 Locarno Film Festival and opened in Italian theaters later that year.
